Front Desk Staff / Seamstress
Stephanie Hyder has a BA in Fashion Design and a Minor in Studio Arts from Marymount University of DC. Growing up in Annapolis, she danced off and on at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, and college was no different. She enjoyed being a part of the Marymount Dance Team all four years while learning the skill sets of sewing and exploring her creativity.
As part of the Front Desk Staff, in addition to the In-House Seamstress for 24/7, she loves meeting new students, connecting with parents, and helping dancers feel comfortable and confident in their recital costumes should they need any alterations. She has been a Costume Designer for the last 8 years for local theaters including Maryland Ensemble Theater in downtown Frederick, Fredericktowne Players, and McDaniel College. Her film work includes costume designing for past promotional videos for Flying Dog Brewery, a locally produced 3D feature black and white silent film 'Leda', and Wardrobe Coordinator for local production company Bottle Media. She has designed and wardrobed various local 72 FilmFest projects for the past 7 years for the multi-award-winning team Star Wipe Films and won the Best Costume Award in 2019 for their film 'Capsule' and again in 2023 for their film "Horizon". Prior to her designing days, she was on the Marketing Team and a tour guide for Flying Dog for 3 years, and the Senior Motorclothes Personal Shopper for Harley-Davidson of Annapolis for 5 years, helping bikers find appropriate functional safety gear to meet their riding needs.
Currently, she has a small business, Unicorn Nature (play on words Unique Ornature), offering handmade fashion and costume pieces, custom wedding attire, artwork, and local DIY and Creative Wellness Workshops. One in particular wedding gown, made from an upcycled vintage lace tablecloth, was featured in an article on theknot.com.
Being a part of the 24/7 Dance family as not only a 3-year Staff Member, but also as a Dance Parent as well as an Adult Student for the past 11 years, Stephanie thrives in such an artistic community surrounded by dedicated instructors and enjoys seeing students grow as they progress in their technique and talent each year.
